182 Janspeed request - sport cat or decat?

Is there any way of telling the difference between a sports cat and silenced decat on Janspeed systems? The emmision light has come on today so not 100% sure what is causing it....

de-cat's are normaly a straight pipe with just the lambda sensor hole

i've got a silenced one which is a bit like this. Looking on k-tec website it does look like a sports cat. With the emission light on, whats the best way of checking whats going on, and will the car fail an mot with the light on?

Take it off and look down the pipe. Silenced and decat, a ball will roll from one end to the other. Cat or Sports cat will have material in the actual pipe

Would do that but can't do so during the week and would need to take it to a garage. tried taking ones of these things off whilst jacked up and it's a crappy job.

Anyone know if you can replace these sport cats with the standard ones?
