182 Magnex lost the 5k kick?

Has anyone fitted a Magnex 'cat back', and lost their 5k kick? As I have heard that the kick comes not from a cam, as I thought, rather the optimum gas flow being achieved!

no kick = smoother torque curve, you'll just have to check if its a gain or a loss on the area under the curve
