MOT round here is 22 quid
Get an aftermarket exhaust, standard Renault ones are loadsamoney
Theres an exhaust in forsale
Where did you take it in the end Karen?
RSR in Croydon in the end, just off the Purley Way (RSR in Sutton had fitted the tyres I got last year from mytyres and they seemed fairly ok), plus I had a lot on today and just needed to go somewhere fairly close.
My exhaust went ages ago, it'd fail for the cat (come June when mines due) which also corrodes badly if it weren't for my local friendly MOT man :quiet:
No point getting a renault exhaust as they hold water and it'll just happen again. 24k I think was the magic number for me.
Stainless steel aftermarket exhaust is cheaper than a new Renault one anyway.
A lot of 182's are failing on emissions now they're hitting 3 years old.

I deal with Rod @ RSR Sutton alot & the company is pretty decent tbh
Glad it passed
Dont do what i did and leave it till it falls off 200 miles from home, worst drive ever that was + looked a right c**k with the noise it made.
Tough call, Karen. I'd prefer to stick with an original Reno replacement, but as others have said, aftermarket ones are supposedly cheaper.
If anything, the 182 is really, really muted with it's exhaust note. The choice of having something a bit louder would be nice, I suppose?
D.
Captive market, I guess?
I'm 'hoping' that the 18 miles each-way I do going to work will heat the exhaust enough to reduce the risk of corrosion. Then again, that's applying logic to a Reno part. Since when did that ever work?
D.
How about the btb cat backs that fmp is selling mate? These are lovely, and well built. I wouldnt trust anything like magnex/ blueflame/ k-tec/ milltek etc, as for every good one, seems to be a bad one that rattles/ doesnt fit.

Ah so would mine be more susceptible to corrosion as I don't use the car often?
mine failed on emmissions, dodgy lambda sensor.
If you want a replacment exhaust Karen, I know a man who has a few, Mike@Rentech has a load he has taken off peoples cars to fit aftermarket ones so i'm sure he could sort you out.
thanks
What causes the 182's to fail on emissions?? or do you mean the sensor caused it? (sorry Im clueless!).

The lambda sensor (exhaust gas oxygen sensor) balances the fuel mixture, a forcked one will cause the car to run rich/lean, so = MOT fail
Where abouts in the country are you, isnt there a Reno specialist close by?
No i said specialist, ktec, angelworks, yozza, rentech etc, not the monkeys that work in the dealerships.
Someone that will fit and supply a quality stainless cheaper than any REnault standard jobby.
