182 Poor signal even after aerial base change

Hi everyone,

i've had poor radio signal for months and decided to change the base unit - this has not helped in the slightest ... this makes me think the power cable going to the base unit has failed.

Does anyone know where the power cable to the aerial base actually takes its power from ( e.g behind the radio loom? , in the engine bay ? )

or does anyone have any suggestions ?
