Right can u change when the 'power' kicks in at 5revs?? like a vtec controller type thing. is it possible ?

it kicked in at 4500 on the old 172, but my 182 "cams" at 5000rpm which admittedly is a little too high.

The resistors are good. Affects fuelling a bit, but if you want better power delivery, you burn more fuel i guess!

yeh if you look behind the engine there is a little dial...... get the engine fully warmed up and put your hand down the back under that exhaust manifold bit...

Or, in other words, no. The more time you spend driving it, the more you'll get used to the timings, and what gears you need to be in to keep the car in the powerband.

Not adjustable, without going to some new cams/ remaps etc.

They should be the same. They have the same engine and cams etc.

Nope the power kick has nothing to do with the VVT on a 1.71/182 VVT is at very low and very high rpm not 4~6k. Its just optimim point where the cams and engine are ebcomming efficient.
