182 remap.....are you happy?

I'm looking at changing my induction and possibly a decat but more importantly matching the inlet with a remap, these last 2 costing roughly £500, will I be happy and think it was money well spent..........did you?

Depends what your expectations are.

If you want better driveabilty you will be happy. If you want a big full throttle power increase you will not.

  M2 Competition
After watching vids of csl's, and gruppe m induction kits on m3's, i really want a maxogen now! How loud are they?

And for original question, should improve driveability, and give you a little more oomph/ more revs to play with. Pointless doing mods for power on a clio, as for the money you wont get much. Better to mod for the 'feel' of the car.

Got a decat, AWT manifold and RSTuning remap and I'm over the moon. Absolutely love the car now. Remap as expected made the most differance individually, only felt a little from the decat (although it makes the standard exhaust sound better IMO) and only a little from the inlet manifold, but I think it was probably running a touch lean due to the improved airflow until I got the remap, which further enhances your existing mods. Remap was the best £275 I'll ever spend!!
I also had a BMC IK on for a while, liked the sound to start with but it wore a bit thin and when I put the standard airbox back on (acoustic valve removed) I liked it even more!! Pretty sure the BMC has been RR'd and only gave 3Bhp.

I've got AWT and group n ecu, only a couple of extra bhp but now 158 lbs ft torque which makes itself felt.

  VaVa
I have had ITG Maxogen, Hillpower Ported Manifold, Prospeed 2.5" Cat Back, uprated fuel pressure regulator and a GroupN ECU... the ECU made the single biggest difference and made the best of the other mods imho.

Biggest difference that was really noticable was the beefed up midrange. Got rid of that 'inbetween' bit of acceleration between 3krpm and 5krpm in second gear out of slow corners etc.

Next up sports cat and RSTuning remap.

  RSC 182 Cup
We may be getting access to an RS Tuning rep down here in Australia for a one time remap session. Is the 30% gain in torque they advertise a realistic figure as thats more important to me then the power gain. I want my clio to yank itself out of those corner exits! :)
