182 Rev LImiter

Sometimes it feels like my rev limiter kicks in too early on my 182. The red bars dont begin until about 7200rpm on the display but at about 6500 the limiter kicks in. The engine is always warmed up sufficient before I take the revs up.

Is this right?

The engine rev limiter is done on oil temp, not water temp (as teh gauge shows). So when you rag it, the oil obviously isnt warm enough yet.

Nice one CocoPops. SO once the oil is fully up to temp what should I expect the rev limit to be?

just into 7k mate, from cold itll cut in at the ones youv mentioned, best to avoid that as it rockets oil pressure up!!
