182 service

My girlfriend has booked her 182 cup into Renault for a service next week, it's an 05 plate currently on just under 30k.

Renault have quoted £304 for the service.

I tried ringing them this morning and was promised a call back but never got one.

Does this sound about right for the service, it's not belts just oils,filters etc i assume?

About 2 or 3 times over priced

I got mine done for £120ish at GDI

Edit: May as well get the Aux and Cam belts changed at the same time.

Aux belt is due in 6,000 miles, and Cam belt in 6 months

I do a few on the side and stamp the book at work. You need the aux belt doing too as its over 3 years old, if the belt kit is including in that price, its not bad at all. If it's just oil, filter, plugs, air filter, pollen filter and general service items then its pretty expensive.

By the time i'd rang them back the service guys had gone for the day

I did think this was a tad high,my immediate thought was they'd bumped the price up as it was a girl who rang.

However i have just rang a Renault specialist local to me and asked for a rough idea of price for a service.
He said that i'd be looking at £100 plus vat for labour plus possibly the same amount for parts.

KTEC charge £109 plus vat for the service £340 plus vat for belts etc.

In 6 months time her cup 182 will need the belts etc doing so for now surely just a oil and filter style service is required?

So £304 for that is mad right?

Thinking about it I got my old Integra Type R serviced at honda for a tad over £200.

Definately. I'd charge parts plus £50, then stamp it at work. You shouldnt be looking at anymore than £150 really.

Oil filter
Air filter
Plugs
Pollen filter
Consumables.

None of that is expensive!

how did you get hold of them, i was told they finish work at 12.00.

They had the service prices on a board so he just read them to me.

Renault were £542 for the belts when I had them done

£304 is a good price for the 36k at Renault but I bet that doesn't include the aux belt.

Sorry that was just for both belts and tensioners, had the service done elsewhere

Just spoke to them, for £304 it is just an oil and filter and air filter basically.
I said how daft the price was and explained that thats one expensive STAMP in the book so i'll go elsewhere.
He came back with "ok well i can go as low as £212".
Apparantly thats as low as he could go.....
