182 style exhaust on 172!?!?

  ph3 dci100 172 rep
as above really im thinking of getting a 182 rear bumper and getting a custom back box with tailpipes to fit in the original slots and i obviusly know that i cant just buy a 182 exhaust as i'd have to fit a 182 boot floor and i cba to do that!

what do you guys reckon?!?!
this is the style and size of pipe im thinking!

Worst part on the 182 Imo, especially if they are the standard size. 3.5 inch FTW

it wouldn't be standard size as i think the standard size looks ridiculous!
i'd want it in the style above but filling the holes!
:D

looks w**k on 172s

only think 1 pipe works properly on the k-tec one which again looks w**k

IMO Stealth is the way to go but its your car and your choice. Due to the spare wheel well though any exhaust that is fabricated will mainly only work out of 1 pipe and in cold weather etc it may look a little odd with smoke only coming from the 1st exhaust.

Just out of curiosity, when people have the 182 style exhausts on 172s what do they do about the extra rear exhaust mount that's needed to hold the back box? Would something need fabricating or is there already holes on the underside of the car to fit the 2nd rear exhaust mount?

I like the look of it too but seriously dont do it lol! I have the exact same one and have had nothing but problems with it, it was wonky when I came out of KTEC and they said it'd straighten up but it never did. Its got more Gun Gum on it than I care to think of lol so Im currently looking for a new bumper so I can buy a stealth. Just my opinion but if you want it that much then I'll be selling mine cheap sometime in the near future :rasp:

That would be my worry too, I used to have a magnex oval back box on mine which looked nice but then got a full stealth system and wouldn't change back now. Also the k-tec stealth has a nice sound to it cos most exhausts I have heard on clio's tend to have that low down drone which gets really annoying. I chose mine for sound more than looks but if you are going to do it, before handing over the green I would try see one up close and have a listen becuase once they chop into ur bumper its not gonna be cheap to return back to any other exhaust.

Why bother messing about with exhausts etc in the first place or any other mods at all to that point, just wasting money as wont add any value to the car or make it any noticably faster:nono: imo the best 172's / 182's are the ones with a nice low mileage 1 0r 2 owners max and a s**t hot service history thats all that mattered to me when i bought mine last month, plus the fact that the clio sports are great little car's to start with and don't need messing about with, afterall its cheap hothatch fun, wanna go faster etc sell up and buy sumit better:approve:

i already have a janspeed mate and tbqh i think ur a bit of a numpty for thinking i think its gonna either 1)make my car faster or 2)add value to it by fitting a different exhasut because i dont at all i want it because i think it looks nice and i like the sound the RS' make with a nice exhaust and induction kit!

Lolz! That looks really really odd without an RS bumper.

Get Charlie to make you up a custom one at prospeed.
He did one for me and it turned out really well:

sorry to change the subject a little but does any1 know how long aprox k-tec take to fitt an exhaust?

For cat-back you need to allow the day really. Not saying your job takes that long but they're very busy so it's unlikely you will be able to get your car worked on as soon as you turn up.

I turned up at 10 on a Saturday and drove out with cat back and decat around half 3.

Very busy indeed (good company)

However when i got there i had a pre booked appointment and was in an out within 2hours, i had the SS Recessed fitted, so bumper needed to be cut, few problems with the Hangers, and a 15min Blast in their Turbo!
