182 sump guard?

has anyone fitted one to their car and if so have they noticed any change?

i ask because i have used lower strut braces on past cars and found them to be pretty good, they dont do one for the 182 however a sump guard does help stiffen the front (i dont want an upper brace) its purely a road car so the only advantage would be structural have done a few searches but couldnt find anything about this.

any ideas?

Renault sport did make one for the Clio rally cars and can be ordered from Renault Sport France; part#7711129605. Its about €250

Not light though mate,they are made of 6mm(minimum) durallium

They do a lower strut brace but it has no effect.

The sump guard Renault sprot do is for the rally cars realy just thick metal as such there no need and it only to stop damage to the engine on rally work no stiffening benefits.

i spoke to strutbracer about a lower one and they said there wasnt one for the 182, have you found one?

reason being roads round my way are rubbish and i always found adding these helps smooth out the bumps and when you hit a pothole it doesnt sound like your cars about to fall apart.

172 is the same. It won't do anything though.

cheers for the above, will give it a miss i think. got an anthracite upper rear last week but to be brutally honest i just like the way it looks across the boot more than anything else.

also means when the wife wants to go shopping we use her car now as my boot space is ltd.
