182 trophy

  S-Max
I would consider a V6 for not too much more tbh.

Suppose it depends whether you need your backseats or not, ins a little more...

Keben, trust me mate, the back seats in a Trophy are as good as unusable, the Recaros take up so much room theres sod all gap between them and the back seats, in 18 months i've never had anyone in the back.

Theres a trophy dedicated site I forget the address best ask there for owners views as there more on there.

I woulnd't get one personally as I think the ride to hard plus if you do a load of miles it will affect the value a lot if you only a do a few you shoulnd't loose much.

I use mine daily, had a 172 for a year, then decided to get a 182.

I test drove a couple of cupped 182's & by chance saw a trophy in sainsbury's car park, had a good look over it .

When i finally found one as soon as i drove it i knew i had to have it.

With time & experience, the car gets better & better.

Yes the ride is a bit 'firm' but show it a set of bends & you soon find out why.

On 'here' they will tell you it's a 182 with different suspension & 'not' really worth the money.

All i can say is that is' boll##s, get out there & drive one for yourself.

I carry my daughter in the back with no trouble at all & have taken 4 adults out as well, but if you want to carry a lot passengers get a people carrier.

Also when time comes to sell, the trophy will hold onto more of it's value as it's 'rare'.

My advice if you can find & afford one 'do it'.

I was looking on auto trader the other day, and i was surprised to see them for sale at around the 13K mark, when you consider some people got theirs brand new for around the 14K with friends and family discount. Great news if you purchased one brand i guess, considering how much the 182 prices have dropped.

A well looked after Trophy with low ish milage will hold it's value and even increase in value after a few years. It'll become rarer and rarer as time goes by as the odd one or two are stuffed into hedges etc. Already we're down to just 495 in the UK as at least 5 have been bent.

Best advice I can give you, if you're serious about buying one, is to speak to Steve at All Vehicles, he's the only Dealer i'd trust to sell mine - sort of specialises in them.

Just over £12k on F & F when new. :D I was in profit for the first 12 months. lol

I may be tempted to part with the legendary 007 some time next year.

Says it all that I've only just dropped into depreciation after over a year and 14K. People don't pay good money for second hand cars without good reason. I'd tested other 172/182's before, but the seats make all the difference, especially in conjunction with the lighter wheels and slightly tweaky suspension.

It's our day to day ride, but our work run is heavy on twisty back roads and light on congested city centre, so it's perfect for us. There have barely been double figure of back seat "passenger hours" s can't really comment on that. Firm ride, but fine for day to day. There's simply nothing as nippy for the money - end of.

i'm on my second Trophy now..... highly recommend that you drive a couple and see what you think to them. my newer one feels very different to the first one i had which is why i say drive a couple.

Cheers guys.
Just wondering whether anyone owns a cupped 172 trophy. I've heard they're a good drive.

The tropy doesn'r come in Cuped spec. The spec levels for the 182 were

182 normal with climate etc (with the option of cup suspension and spolier packs)

182 CUp which was a lower spec normal car with aircon no zeons and both CUp packs fitted as standard

Trophy is realy a 182 Cup just with the expensive dampers.
