What bhp does it show? 200? :p

LOL, I dread to think. It shows it as power output, so I think it's in kw. If I give one of the lads from work a lift this evening, I'll get him to grab some video of it in action, on that private road I use to get home of course.

BTW, sorry Paul, we've completely hijacked your thread. It's all good info for you to decide on the 200 though.

going back a few pages, keyless entry lets u open the car from about a meter away but it physically wont start the car unless your inside the car, it just brings up no card detected on the scree, I was playing about with it and even with the window down and my card about an inch outside the car, it wont let you start it. Bluetooth is the one option I miss that my GT DCI had that my 200 doesnt, the non Bluetooth stereo is much much better sound quality though so its not all bad!

I dont see why people wont just buy nearly new / ex-demo if they are worried about losing so much money from new. I wouldnt be interested in buying brand new personally, i dont see the appeal, unless there is a waiting list for the 200 and there are no ex-demo for sale? I bought the 197 with about 1000 miles on the clock from a renault dealer and saved about 5k off list i think.

I bought a pre reg 200 with delivery millage, suffered full engine failure and Renault uk are not interested because its "not brand new" and left me to deal with the dealership

And you'll lose an obscene amount on your 200!

Why's that? The 197 was bought brand new, and I pilled on loads of miles in a short space of time! The 200 has already had it's depreciation hit. Based off it's RRP it's lost around £9k in 12 months. When I was buying the 200 a mate at the dealership showed me on the system what my 197 was valued at, just to prove they weren't trying to rip me off, as it did seem very, very low.

When I purchased the 182 (Full Fat) it cost me £10.5 brand new (30% discount), and I traded it in 12 months later for £9.5k. If you get the right deal you don't always lose loads on a new car. The only reason I lost a lot on the Trophy and 197 was that I kept them both too long and put on more miles than people who spend more time polishing than driving. I bought the Trophy with 24% off IIRC and the Cup had somewhere around 21%. The Cup certainly lost the most though.

As I've said before though, I don't consider that. If I can afford to buy it and run it, screw what it's worth if I've enjoyed my time with it. :approve:

There were three 200's that were 'nearly new' at the time I ordered and none of them were exactly like I wanted. In fact, two weren't even close.

I'm planning on keeping and enjoying it for years, so I'll take the extra hit over having a car that still costs a lot of money that's not to my exact spec.

And anyway...

I wouldn't touch an ex demo car.

LOL. Especially not the three 200's I drove before I decided.

when spending a decent amount of coin on a car, personally I wouldn't mind spending the cash to get the options I want, had I took a bog standard GT DCi id have saved about 5 grand over ordering the one I did with probably £2000 of options! but it was worth it to me!

OK, but not all new cars suffer engine failure, or else no cars would ever make it past their first birthday! All the Renault Clios i had and my last 2 BMWs were ex demo and had no problems with them, i think you just had bad luck! (i wont mention the Cayman or my point will fall to bits).

ok so fair enough there is a used car shortage for the 200. It was different when i got the 197 though, there were tonnes about nearly new!
