has anyone done it? im currently ona 35mm dro pand to me it doesnt look possible with out really low profiles. need answers because iv been offered a nice set.

18's on a clio

iv got 17's on at the moment, looks quite good. handling on 17's isnt to good but im not a speed freak anyway. is the arch wide enough to accomodate 18's?

Paul C had them on his valver a few years back, it handled awefully and looked like a cartoon. The wheels flat-spotted really quickly because of the low profiles needed to make things fit, and it just generally wasn't that nice to be in. The change to 17s made a massive difference and it was loads nicer all round

18's would look stupid on a Clio (i'm assuming you're referring to the 182?) even 17's would look a little large.
16's were put on the car for a reason so why change it? 18's would ruin the handling completely not to mention the acceleration and god only knows how much rubbing there'd be from the arches?

Not saying don't put 18's on, was considering it myself, but you need 30 profile tyres 215 width to keep the rough same rolling circumference. the ride may be harder depending on the stiffness of the sidewall of the tires you use. handling will not be made worse. it will change also according to the stiffness of the sidewall.
don't believe everything you read, your best off finding someone with 18's and trying the car yourself, it's the only way.

I've got 17's on mine at the mo. It's not everyones cup'o'tea but, I really like it, the handling is noticebly different at speed but, not below 90mph. I've got mine on cup springs and with a passenger and extra weight ie a couple of suitcases it does rub on the rear when you hit a bump in the road. Just as soon as I get back from Le Mans I will be sorting this some how in order to slam it completely.
In short, I reckon you'd be pushed to get 18's on cleanly without some serious arch mods.

but it depends on the width of the rim....any more than standard will play up with the arches...............on any size diameter rim
eg a 16" rim and 8.5" width will rub the arches!
so if you had 18" rims that were 7" wide they won't rub the arches. Finding tyres may be a problem

lol i thought it mite be. But seriously mate itll look shocking and itll look stupidly high if u havent lowered it already. U dnt wanna be driving round lookin like a 4x4 do ya?! if so then crack on
18s has been done before, you can lower about 40mm but think you need to lose the arch guards. Looks daft though imo
