what car is it? wouldn't bother telling them about the mods if I were you. Cheaper to replace them yourself than paying a premium like that

Lol!

If you don't tell them insurance = void and nothing will be paid out.

  330i. E30 Touring.
As said, full policy.

Anything that's a performance enhancing modification must be mentioned or it voids the entire thing.

I was paying £550 with 1 year ncb at 19 on my 1.2corsa and I live in a high end post code zone so I'd def expect you to be able to get cheaper than that

Personally I wouldn't delcare mods, for the sake of paying an extra £2k on a car that maybe isn't even worth that, it is an obvious risk and not advising you do it but it's what i did and I was fine (pulled by the police a couple of times over two years and they never had any probs about it or questioned it).

Clio is insured with mods, brentacre are good for that plus they allow performance gains of 15bhp I think to allow for zausts, filters, minor stuff like that

If you put your mum and/or dad as named drivers on your policy it pushes the price down loads.
I'm the policy holder and my mum is named on my 1.2, Im 18 with only 1 years named driver experience, and with admiral I'm now paying £1200 Fully comp as the main driver.
Not sure how good they are for mods though.

The problem with that is, if you keep the mods and don't declare, then crash into a brand new £80,000 BMW the insurance company are going to pick your policy and car to pieces and find that you have the mods and void your policy. Then your stuck with no car and will have to pay back the £80,000 for the new BMW.

im only 17, passed my test about 2 weeks ago and im only £923 tpft with quinn direct, they allow cosmetic mods without changing the price and when i asked them about lowering they put it through to see if the price had changed and nothing had happened! im driving a 1.2 dynamique btw on my own policy.

I was with Quinn before I passed for around that price but for comprehensive, then as soon as I told them I'd passed they wanted to triple my insurance up to like 3 grand for comprehensive.
And that was only as a named driver

unfortunately you're of that age that is considered "wildly dangerous".

just but the car as standard and your details through confused.com and see what happens

fyi quinn direct have gone into administration so you could be without insurance shortly unless quinn have outsourced all their clients to another insurer such as d.line/admiral and the like.

if not, you'll be looking for a new policy bud

i bloody hope quinn don't stop the insurance, like stated in another thread, my insurance is £1700 3rd party at renewal with 1 ync, compared to minimum £4500 anywhere else!

Try HIC (Herts insurance) I found they were really good when I quoted with my mods.

My mum has only just cancelled her insurance with Quinn on her car the other week when we took out the multicar policy with Admiral, and she's yet to get her money back :S
