197/200 Recaro CS seats into 172 etc

Been a while since I’ve done any work on my VBD Seat frames to help fit 197/200 Recaro CS seats into a 172 etc.

I’ve designed a replacement frame that bolts the base and seat back together.

This allows you to remove the heavy and very high position original frame found when fitted in the Mk3.

Once my new VBD frame is fitted it can be used with my existing VBD Clio adaptors available in both standard and low versions.

Price will be confirmed this week when I place my first production run.

I’ve got my first set of prototypes to lower the Mk3 Recaros here.

I’m hoping to have them welded up this week and then do a test fit.

They have got to go through another prototype stage yet for all the strengthening gussets etc.

Will make another thread once I’ve made some progress.

They will be available for both driver and passenger seats too.

Waiting on my first order of 10 sets of replacement CS frames.


These can be used with existing Trophy adaptors or standard R26 Megane ones.

They are compatible with my VBD adaptors in standard height and lowered versions.

As soon as I get some sets finished I will post them up on the forum.

So this frame will be specifically to adapt the Renault Sporters to fit into a Mk2?

The frame is to actually bolt the 2 parts of the seat together.

When you remove the original frame it leaves the seat in two parts.

After joining the seat back together with my new frames you then choose my adaptors to suit your vehicle

Would these be of any benefit to seats bought from Recaro then or only the Renault ones?

Seats you’ve bought from Recaro would just require my VBD adaptors to fit them in Clio MK2
