197/200 Supercharger conversion

Anyone running a supercharger conversion on a mk3? I had a poke around the ex supreme motorsport demo car a few weeks back and I've always fancied a supercharged car. The owner was saying he was currently taking supreme to court as it wasn't running right and they couldn't fix it but I see K-Tec now offer a kit so there must be reliable options out there, 300hp sounds just nice!

Anyone got one that's been reliable?

Anyone driven both a supercharged and a meglio? id be interested to hear peoples thoughts as the meglio is obviously tried and tested but as I say, I've always had an itch for a supercharged car!

That was an early jamsport conversion that was very reliable and ran standard ecu etc. If you want a fast road clio that drives like NA then its worth it. If you want a track animal don't waste your cash and stick with a standard 200

yeah it would be a fast road car only, love the way a 197 drives it just always feels that bit lardy which i think a supercharger would solve!

@Martin_172 was that the white 197 that was all over Facebook?
That's the one! Boy paid top money for it and it's never ran right from day one they claimed it was fine when they sold it then he found the build thread of them discussing the exact issue on the second last post followed by a post saying "it's fixed , now for sale!" Not good!

It certainly looked the part. You'd think it would be tried and tested considering it was plastered with "Supreme Motorsport".

I'd be raging if I found a dodgy history online and then the builder/OP denies the issues ... 🤨

I’m actually the owner of the car and it’s currently now going to court where they are going to get it handed to them with the evidence we have. I tried to keep it in house with them as I have no interest in damaging a business and initially they took responsibility but then when I got a copy of a build thread stating that they knew about the issues prior to pick up the have tried to claim private sale 🤥🤥🤥😂😂😂 so they are now getting taken to court. Where they will get taught a lesson on customer service and legal responsibilities.

I was looking at their kit/service as I’ve just got myself a little 197 for the track and was seriously contemplating charging it. Meglio it is. Poor show from Supreme by sounds of it.

Ah wasn't sure if you were on here. Cheers for showing me round the car when I seen it, remember you have promised me a run in it when it's running right!!!

You thought about speaking to another specialist who might have the ability to fix it? Worth a session at EFI I'd say!

What’s thought to be up with the car for it to be breaking up at high revs? Just intrigued as really it should be something sortable?

Assuming the mechanics are sound… plugs (are they gapped down low enough) coil packs, trigger for coil packs (looking at wiring to them and the ecu triggers). As it was completely stripped is there a missing earth or poor earth that’s struggling etc

Obviously I’d assume all this has been gone through so just interested what the angle is

Surely an Indy mapper would be able to pin point the issue quickly

There was 3 at supercharged Mk3's at Snetterton when I last went.
1 ran fine all day, 1 was missing above 5k, 1 never made it passed the sighting laps due to a fuel issue.

There was one on the 197 forum which blew up his most recent forged engine a couple of weeks ago. I believe he's trying to get that sorted through EFI, as Chris "turned the knock sensor off"
(which I personally find hard to believe)

They just sound like a lot of hassle to me to be honest. I'd just leave the engine alone and enjoy going fast through the corners. If you want a fast Renault, just buy a Megane lol.

This story seems to be popping up on the Facebook clubs. The guy says he's had some base diagnostics carried out locally in agreement with Supreme Motorsport but was looking for more involvement from Supreme as the diagnostics didn't shed any light. This is when the sale became a "private sale" and Supreme are trying to slink out of any responsibility.

The fault described sounds like a fuelling issue to me - ie the pump can’t meet the demands. It could even be something simple like low voltage at the pump!

In a lot of conversions people think you can just put a bigger in tank pump in place, but there’s so many other things that need to be checked/measured.

I was following it on Facebook and I see your posts keep getting removed from the group's! - as people commenting were suggesting their negative posts towards supreme also got removed.

Very shady!!

Yeah not good posts getting removed especially with fellow fb members that had issues with supreme. Certainly won’t be using them for any parts or work myself.

The other thing I'd check if it's breaking up at high rpms is the crank and cam sensors, the installation/air gaps on those, and the especially the wiring to them - seen way too many bad loom 'adapter' jobs with no or broken shielding on the crank and cam sensors which will cause the ECU to lose track of the engine as the rpms rise and corresponding ignition breakup or wander.

It does always tend to be north of 4-5k too as the voltages get up and you get RF interference.
