i still think of my test drive and that was 2 weeks ago...it left a good impression on me anyways!

the steering wheel, seats and especially that ultra close gearbox..are fapping fantastic!

strangely enough.. my mum n dads 182 looked dated for the 1st time this morning!...wierd!

Just been reading this

They said the 197 is too good to compare to other hot hatches in same class so they pitted it against Focus ST and Astra VXR

Very positive review, said it was the best ride of the three, handling very good
Quibbles were sluggish low down torque and straight line performance not as good as ST and VXR at higher speeds (no surprises there) but it wasnt actually far behind

yeah review wasnt bad, but 0-100 in 18.7 secs!! yowza, slow!!! but then again it prob had minimal mileage.

autocar tested the 182 0-100 in 17.0 and the 182 had 1751 miles on the clock

what time did the 197 do 0-60 in? Also what were the 0-60 and 0-100 times for the ST & VXR

Might be interesting to someone. dont know if there accurate or not but i found its usually about right.

^ there the manufacturers stats, Renault claim the 197 is quicker to 60 than a 182 and we all know thats crap

I think autocar had 6.9 0-60 clio and about 6-ish for both the ST and VXR, was disappointed they only did 30-50 in 3rd and 50-70 in 5th (I think) for the split times, obviously the 197 was at least a second slower amd sometimes more for split times, crazy thing is im sure the ST doesnt cost that much more than the list price of 197, for the price you'd pay for a custom zorst on a 197 you could remap the ST to +50bhp and +50 torque too

Cool will have to buy that and see how it compares to the 172/182
