197 bumper colour match

Dunno whether anyone can confirm this, but it seem pretty blatant to me that 197 bumpers are not painted at the sametime as the chasis. The colour match is really bad, seems most noticable on nimbus and ultra red and liquid.

Needs sorting!!! Ive looked at a few now and the majority suffer from this.

Albi blue seems to match ok. Haven't seen any of the mentioned colours in real life to can't really comment on them.

Only the bumpers etc on the LY is sprayed at the factory itself.

It seems to be ok on the RB. Only very little difference.

all albi blue ones i've seen (including mine) the rear bumper is a slightly different shade. front one seems ok though...and no its not been in a bump as i've seen a few and they all look same.

So many variables in the plastic parts using different primers etc, main issue like others have said painted at different times not with the car, in the case some manufacturers not even in the same factories.

the rear bumpers where always a bit hit and miss on the old one, they are sometimes not even close on the 197. As said, nimbus and red seem to be the worse, racing blue and black seem to be not bad, with Albi accpetable.

It would drive me insane and for the cost just isnt acceptable:

I can vouch that black has perfect colour match. maybe it was damaged coming of the transporter...cheap repair?

Yep silver ph1, ph2 wings never match seems like they're keeping up with tradition lol
Liquid yellow has to be sprayed all at the same time and in the same direction on every pannel for it to match.

My rear bumper has just been resprayed coz the paint was to thin and you could still see the black plastic in one area. The dealer has has a go at it and it looks poo, got to go back and see what they gonna do about it now.

ad, that's my nimbus :approve:
btw, the difference is (hardly) noticable depending on how the sun hits it!

it's because plastic can never look like metal altough the paint is the same.
No one commented that my bumpers look different, even I don't notice in sometimes
