197 Cup Stereo

My speakers in the cup are pretty s**t to say the least. If I just upgrade the door speakers am I likely to see a reasonable improvement in sound quality?

I know nothing about ICE!

You might also want to get some rear speakers too. They don't have them. I had some fitted before I collected the car. Upgrading the fronts would also help.

Cheers mate, did you find the standard set up a little pants as well?

It's not great, but good enough for me. I've never swapped the speakers in any of my Clios, I just put up with them. If they start to rattle I'll most likely upgrade them.

I did add a Tunepoint though, so at least I can play stuff off my iPod or USB memory stick.

Yeah, im not into upgrading stereos but the stereo in the cup is shat.

Nor me. I actually had an Alpine in the Trophy though. That was purely to be able to play Mp3 CDs when I drove to the South of France!

IMO the first thing to go should be the headunit, this makes the speakers sound poor.

Is it straight forward to change the stereo but still be able to use to steering wheel controls?

ye easy to change but you night need an adapter for the controls depens on what hud mate.

adaptor for stalks if you want them and also a small fascia surround unless you dont mind having the small holes on it

After market HU are made to uprate anything. Thats why they are so expensive. I have a alpine headunit in my clio. Not as posh as a 197 but it has uprated my door speakers dramatically
