done a few searches and cant find anything for MK3 clio.

Havent had the car long and had first bit of fog the other day, went to use them and couldnt see a difference so checked and they are both out,

Obviously your all going to say check the bulbs....But as they are both out and you have to ?take the bumper off? to change the bulbs i was wondering what else it could be? and how to check it, not very good with cars.... idiots guide please.

Thanks

Will

Does the 197 have auto lights? if so, you need to have the lights "switched on" as if you didnt have auto lights. Then try the fogs. I think this is how they work, I used to have a 197 but cant remember.

So even if auto lights are on, lights have to be twisted to on ? Will try after work, thanks

Bumper doesn't need to come off to change fogs, access can be gained by removing front part of arch liners.. Wheels off at the most

Does your rear fog light work? If I remember click forward on the stalk for front, and click back for rear. Something like that just in case you didn't realise.

More than likely the wiper stalk at fault. I know that sounds odd but the fogs are connected to the wiper stalk via a small plug. Changed a few for same problem and would be very surprised if it isn't that. 5 min job. Does the fog light come on on the dash when you flick them on out of interest?

It appears on the dash yes, rear fogs come on

Looked in manual,

"Fog lights bulb change - contact main dealer" LOL, so they can rape me out of £100 odd

It only has rear fog on rear right corner. I still think it could be the wiper stalk. If you book it into a dealer some will say it's a bumper off job even tho it can be got to without removal I know some people have been quoted an hours labour to do the job. Try something for me, pull the plastic surround behind the steering wheel upwards and turn the steering wheel to the right so you have more access to the right hand switch. You may need to lower the bottom trim behind the steering wheel which you can do by undoing 2 t20 screws. If you can see the tiny plug with loads of red wires going into it on the wiper stalk, unplug it and plug it back in to see if it fires into life

The bumper off is like a 10 minute job mate. Be much better doing that, infact i'd rather do that than take wheels and liners off.

Right, have unplugged the green block with loads of red cables going to it, it beeped at me a few times, then plugged it back in, same as before :-0

Ok annoyingly think your gonna have to take it to a garage unless you know someone with a 197 you can swap bits with to try. Was worth a try as that trick has worked once before! ;)

well its either both bulbs have gone, or fuse has theres only one feed going down to the fogs, it goes down to a plug behind the passager side fog light. then to the passage fog light then from that to the other, or it could be the "main" plug itself behind the passager fog light.

It's going for a new front tyre on thursday so I can ask the guy to check then as it looks like wheel off/arch liner to get to the fogs, thanks tho guys! :)
