Can anyone help just taken my 06 197 to a local specialist to see why after i have selected reverse the gear lever pull stays in the upward position so when i try to select 1st it will not go in until i have manualy pulled it back down, he said that he had not seen this problem before and that it appered the spring had broken and qouted me £141 for a new gear lever plus fitting, can anyone help with a cheaper way to put this problem right
