197 in dealers today

Took the P1 to get its immobiliser upgraded today, and had a wander over to the Renault dealership when I caught a glimpse of a 197 in the showroom window. As I walked over I noticed a black 197 outside and to be quite honest it looked stunning. From the photo's I've seen and pictures in magazines I was a bit wary as to how they looked, too big in my opinion and lardy like. However, in the metal they certainly do look a whole lot better, especially this black number. Having sat in the blue demonstrator, its certainly comfy. Steering wheel is a huge improvement on the 182s Double Decker bus jobbie, too.
Salesman said its more refined than the 182, but doesnt feel as quick or manic as the 182/172 Cup etc. Anyway, took some pictures with my phone (never thought I'd be saying that 15 years ago ) ...

Ordered mine in racing blue the other week. After seeing it in the flesh and test driving it it had to be done.

the black one does look very nice but i think it undermines the diffuser...the blue however looks very nice and that plate is lovely

lol, I was actually going to. I looked underneath to get a good shot and realised that the diffuser takes up most of the rear underside. Its just like a big plastic cover so I figured it was pointless taking a snap

I thought Albi blue looked good in the metal but racing blue looks better and its only a pic.

Yeah Racing blue was tidy as up close and in 'the flesh'. Black was sleek and stealth like and looked amazing too

I saw a black one in my local stealers - Apparently, the showroom model had been sold already as they are in such high demand!!

Looked around the test drive model in black, looked OK but nothing special - the sales guy told me to keep my 172!! he he - I like a sales person to know what they are talking about
