197 Recaros in a 182?

  BG 182 & 225 T
As above, do the recaros from the mk3 197 fit into the mk2 182, or do you need to buy new subframes to accomadate them?

cheers

It has been done. Steve@R-sports put some in a 172 iirc.

Need to get subframes from capital seatings I think.

Very expensive package.

As far as I'm aware, you can put Sportster CS's in a 1*2, which are the seats in a 197, but they're direct from Recaro, not taken from a 197; the exact 197 seats have an integral subframe as standard as far as I'm aware, and therefore require a lot of cutting and welding. The Sportster's from Recaro however can be mounted straight to frames meant for the 1*2 Recaro's, and thus it's a much easier job.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Aren't they too tall for the MK2s? As in... they touch the roof?

Unless you get custom frames built so they can sit lower; probably the case. You could probably spend the value of a lot of 1*2's over again just getting some nice seats in there, not really worth it unless you have a Vee IMO, because it's such a special car.

This. Bought direct from Capital Seating will fit, but are extortionately expensive. Out of a 197 direct won't fit. I was seriously considering them for mine, as Steve from R-Sports looked epic. But, the price put me off when I can get 2 high quality Sparco fixed buckets for a fraction of the price. This is what they looked like in Steve's;

And these are my Sparco Evo 3's, as said for a much reduced price (forgive the poor photo quality)

I ummed and arred for ages, as I love the Recaros, but even I couldn't justify the cost and I tend to throw money at the flamer at the best of times.

Edit - just seen Steve has posted above!

thanks for the feedback, seems a lot more hassle than its worth and for the price!
Yeah the problem is they go straight into a non recaro 197, so you are competing with those people to buy which keeps the price up which makes them expensive to but just to start angle grinding and welding.

Evo 6 upwards? from 99 onwards they are nice seats, eps the leather ones.

Must confess I dont recall what year mine are from, I bought them off someone on here and didnt take a lot of notice.

already got trendlines in the turbo and the RS2 car, but wanted some for the mk1 as well so these seemed ideal.
