197 Recaros wear

COuldnt get a straight answer on renaultsport, all of a sudden people seemed to start ignoring the issue... anyway, heres my question as i posted over there:

I know people have had issues with the these, and I am having them in my cup. Question is, on the bolsters is it JUST the material that the issue is with, or does the foam underneath go aswell?

Reason I ask is that I can probably get the bolsters recovered in Leather for very few pennies if and when I get the problem, and I presume this would prevent any re-occurence?

It's just the bolsters. There were some pictures in the thread on Renaultsport. There's very little foam underneath, they're hard as nails those sides.

There has also been problems with the sub frames rusting.

I don't have a problem with either. Some people have had wear within 3k miles. I'm over 7k now, with plenty of hard driving on road and track and mine look as good as new. I'm not a fat b*****d who can't get in and out of a seat though. lol

As for rusting subframes surely they must get them wet? Mine are fine.

My R27 is on 10,600 at nearly a year old the seats are fine mate, if you are lazy and rub your leg over the bolsters everytime you get in and out they'll wear very quickly tho..also if you're a bit beefy and your legs sit on or over the bolders they'll get ruined quickly too..thats what people fail to mention on renosport accept from a few, one guy who was winging about his was around 18 stone IIRC therefore a 'bit beefy'..
