197 Recaros

Have noticed some wearing on the driver's seat with a small hole appearing on the bolster. Have to leave the car into Renault in the morning for them to take some photographs to send to Renault to see if I can get the seat repaired under warranty.

Will be interesting to see what Renault say. I only have 16.5K miles on the clock and wouldn't have expected to seat to show any wear and tear yet.

Yeah quite common, my passenger side is starting to wear, and another mate of mine who has recently just sold his F1 had his seat replaced under warranty at 11k.

Edit: Also watch out for the frame that the seats are mounted on (passenger side) I have bubbles and rust on them from where the paint is flaking.

Should be covered under warranty Dave.

Quite common on the 197 recaros AFAIK
Well that's what i thought Mike. I know there is a common fault with the Recaro's. Hopefully will get the seat fixed / replaced. If not, I think I will contact Renault UK myself and see what the story is.

As said Dave if the dealer wont do it, then speak to Renault UK.

It'll def get sorted one way or the other

But..... they replace them with the same part, so you'll be in the same boat a year or so down the line, with NO warranty. Mines fucked, meh going to source a cover from capital seating

Well...dealer is not going to repair / replace recaro under warranty. Dealer said something about having to account for items at audit and that the seat basically wasn't covered by warranty. not that the seat is that bad at the moment, but there is definately the start of wear on it! think I might try another dealer and see what they say.
