197 Remap, anyone had it done?

Hi Guys,

Considering venturing up to k-tec and getting my 197 remapped, is it just a software update? or is it a pyhsical chip?

Will it effect insurance?

Will it be more thirsty?

Much difference?

TBH mate I dont know if KTec can live map, Im not sure, they might be able to now!:approve:

I would go see Paul, cant rate the lad enough, mine wasnt a staright forward map, then I ballsed the air/fuel up so he fixed that, top bloke IMO wont find better for your ££

Mine is better on fuel now (std cars with a map will be) which surprised me with my cams etc!

Cool cool - the problem is being in Essex! There are a couple places here that do it I think like BBPT and Ren-o-Tec so I may have to investigate further.

Its is available and does work donet get me wrong!! It depends on what youre doing. If its just a zorst and a map, it will work fine!!

Probs start when you run cams etc, my air fuel was all over the show and has clocked up 81 runs on pauls dyno, you imagine trying that with RSTuner?? Run it, send it away, run it, send it away etc....

Proper live map on thr rollers cant be beaten IMO:approve:

I've had a live map done on mine, acceleration feels smoother and perhaps a little bit more responsive. Also cured the cold start issues!

This combined with an ITG panel filter on the rolling road got a result of 202bhp which I'm pretty happy with

Nah, I got it done by a jap tuning company near me. My mate did it for me at a 'mates rate' so I can't complain!

Can definately tell the difference, it just feels smoother and keener. Not trying to make out that it's faster, just saying that combined with the filter I'd say I can spot an improvement in performance.

Mate thats spot on, mates rates are the best!!
