197s gain a load of torque mid-range but not heard a claim that big for bhp
EDIT: I lie, i have a graph of 15bhp increse top end and gains of about 20ftlb torque accross the range
Yes thats at the fly. Apparently they are down on power as standard, inlet mani apparently could be part of this still
not been told i cant...
Graph was provided by K-tec and is as you can see, an RS Tuning map.

That car isnt making book figures before remap...
Check the times on the graph and you will see its back to back
Its just a remap no other mods
Wish I hadnt posted now, I am getting flamed for other peoples claims...

only by people who dont like to admit a number given to a car isn't it's power output![]()
Even so, you're right the car on that graph is down on power as standard even for a conservative dyno. And the owner of the car we dyno'd at 180 completely stock thinks it's gutless.
well for starters, the 197 has only ever claimed to have 194bhp (197 is the PS measurement)
Secondly, the car wont be down on power due to the map, as its the same map on all 197s out the factory. The power loss is coming from somewhere else.
At the end of they day, the low down torque gain available by remapping the 1*2s and 197 is worth the money alone, never mind any top end power gains.
Superchips have a graph on their site for the 197 map.
They get 209bhp @ 7172rpm and 166lb/ft torque @ 5531rpm.
