197 vs mk5 GTI (with DSG) ?

would say the golf . A standard GTI would beat a 197 (6.7 - 60 acording to EVO and a DSG is 02 quicker ).

i know the clio is faster is around a track, but not too many tracks where I live...actually, there are none!

that's why it's a big deal.
Damn it, would a ktr exhaust/sports cat/ , itg maxogen kit and a remap help ?

Thought the book figure on the GTI was about 7.5 although I know evo tested one at 6.9ish

no way, it's just the megane driver not shifting properly

damn, that dsg is a good thing, altough it takes out the joy of shifting manualy

I'd expect it to be close to around 60-70mph but as the weight becomes less of an issue, the outright torque of the gti would see it pull 'some' distance.

I raced a mk5 golf gti in my 182 cup from 20 mph and there was next to nothing in it to 130. The golfs pick up from 20mph was a little quicker but didnt get anything on me. i was a bit in his slip stream i suppose as i was behind but he pulled up by me at the next roundabout and wound his window down and said to me fair play thats quick!

Thing is, with most manual cars, the 0-60's are ontained by person X with no mechanical sympathy banging car x's gears in using little or no clutch , hence to obtain the 0-60 time they say, u'd have to half kill it. remember subaru used to say the WRX would do 0-60 in 5. something, MMMMMM yep, shortly followed by a new clutch

My golf will go easily to 150 mph ish, so top end its gonna pull away from the clio, unless you have 200 ish bhp, I'd say

Makes no difference, a clio 182 can't hit 150 with std gearing/revlimits.

Trile- Supersprint exhaust, decat, Group N Ecu, polished inlet manifold from Angelworks, BMC induction kit.

It's a quick car for what it's had done, I've got a few videos of me beating a R32 too. 0-60 is around 6 flat I'd say.
