197 with no back seats... sellable???

  172 5HED
As above really....

It seems that plenty would buy a 182 with a set of buckets up front and no rears, whether that is because its an older car I dont know???

I just cant see mine selling (if I have to - long story) with buckets up front and no rears, even when carpetted and dor cards back in etc...

Opinions?

172/182s are becoming cheap and people are buying them to convert to track cars because of the low price.

197s arent "cheap" track cars yet.

You have a very limited market with your stripped 197

Same here mate, I would buy a stripped 197, there will be a market for your car since you have spent quite abit on the car already.

If its priced well it will have no trouble selling tbh.

Stick it up and if you have no joy, return back to standard.

But keep and eye out for standard parts too.

i wouldn't even try to sell my 172 stripped out let alone trying to sell a 197 like that.

I personally would never buy a track prepped car, I'd rather buy a boggo one and do it myself...

Is standard interior hard to get hold of second hand?

Meh Ill bang a STD interior in then, will only cost a few ton! Just easier and quicker (should I need to) selling it as is!No way in hell Im pricing it significantly cheaper!!!

If you find the right buyer who wants a car like that then you'll have no problems, but as this has hardly been done to 197's you may struggle at the moment due to the age/value of them etc.

Did you not keep the interior when you stripped it?

I'd sell it as a track prepped car, you've certainly got the unique mods to get away with it.

Maybe try getting a feature in FastCar or so? Always easier to flog a mag featured car.

Whatever anyone says, you're limiting the number of people that would buy it. If you're thinking of a quick sale, that's the last thing to do.

Already been featured in PFC...

Cheers guys, will hunt down a STD interior! May just throw it up for sale in the meantime!

Needs the spangly dash in 1st as its already all sorted with Matt!;)

to be honest mate you're going to loose money no matter what you do to it. Modding cars is a waste of cash when it comes to selling to be honest. You'll either have to sell it on here to someone who knows about the car, or on a trackday webby really. Depends what you're asking for it though.

Keep it and use it as you intended Kev, one trip to Oulton in the wet with sh1t tyres doesn't qualify ;)

i'm sure you could remove the TB kit and ECU and sell that seperately. It all looked reversable from the pics.

Aye, I could mate, pretty easily but after all the work Matt has put in and it being as powerful as it is compared to STD ones I thought someone may want it like that ;)

99% off us on here who spend so much money on our car's will never see the return on what we've laid out for it. Part of the fun i suppose and what you intend to keep the car for. Seems like a lot of work that's been done and now you just want to return it to standard and get rid now?!

nope, as above, would like the interior STD but someone would enjoy how well it goes/sounds after all the work?? Poeple on here all the time wanting to cam their 197s etc....

I think it'll sell as is, the only problem being how quickly. Someone will want it, it's just a case of finding that special someone (which is quite apt on valentines day).
