1998 1.2 central locking unit

  1998 1.2 clio
Hi im new to the site, but I was wondering if anyone could help me I have just brought a 1998 1.2 clio manual petrol as a project and of course the central locking has gone, ive changed the battery checked fuses checked door locks ive tried everything including having key tested all the syncronising and reprogramming checked the imobiliser unit near interior light ect I just basically want to know where the central locking unit is incase There is a problem there, sorry to waffle on but would be appreciated if anyone could help,

Is your locking IR or RF? IR locks have a little dome by the light.
Is your key definitely sending a signal?

IF= Infrared
RF=Radio Freq

On RF keys there's a red led - does it light?
On IR keys, there's an IR led - hold it infront of your phone camera with it on and push the key - do you see it flash on your phone?
if the answer is no to either of those - your key isn't always sending the signal.

Is it definitely 100% synch'd up to the car?

Search the forums - you'll probably find a wealth of threads about the locks.

and lastly - welcome to ClioSport.net!
