1st March - The Wait Begins

Im well happy!!! finally ordered the clio 182 in black gold with both cup packs-delivery for March 1st(stating the obvious) managed to get a good deal from renault dealer-saved around 3K which im happy with. driving this car after my current 16v golf gti is a revelation, it felt so responsive and the handling is leagues above the golf-although the combination of wet roads and two other people in te car meant i didnt get too enthusiastic!;)

the salesman kept going on about dymond bright or super bright (excuse my ignorance) and how the car would benefit from this coating they apply to the car. just wanted to get some views from u guys as to the benefits of this coating and is it really worth it??

anyway im off now to go stare at my calender and work out how many days of torture i have to endure until the beast is ready to collect!!

I would not go for the coating it sucks,

Just zymol the car when you get it.

D
what price did you get the car for in the end ?

i got the car with both packs for 12.3k otr, not too bad from main dealer although i can hear some already saying- hes not paid that much for it has he??!! im happy anyway and cheers for the advice.

WHy WHy WHy do Reanult advertise the 182 at 14700 OTR? If they just advertised it the price they mainly sell the car for would it not make more sence? Sure, getting a "DEAL" might make you feel more obliged to part with your money but at the end of the day that amount of money off the list price is just a joke. So much so infact that I belive it does the opposite and makes you question, "Why the hell am I getting this so cheap, is there a problem with Renaults cars or what?"

P.S - Hope your wait isnt to painful, mine was a nightmare :D

Yes and its very annoying when you get it as a company car and have to company car tax based on the cars list price

Im in the same boat, crossing the days off till the 1st of March! Ordered racing blue + both cup packs and gordini stripes. Went into my local dealer on Friday to pick up a part for my current clio and they had the above 182 (basically the one Ive ordered) in the showroom . I couldnt catch my breath! Never seen a racing blue in the flesh! Well pleased with the colour! :D

CANT BLOODY WAIT ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!

Went past the dealer yesterday and I have the same car as I ordered too in the showroom! Couldnt believe it, neither could I believe all the marks on it, loads of scratches round the drivers side wheel arch on the rear quarter panel. Was shocked to see a car like that in there showroom, hope mine doesnt turn up like that :( Looked as if it had been scraped against something.

Black gold did look good in the sunlight, but am worried about what condition the car will arrive in now. When I ordered the car the dealer had a Racing Blue 182Cup in the shrowroom which was spotless.

Highlight off the day was the Blue V6 outside though, unregistered but loads of mud up the side so someone had been out and had a play lucky gits!

I spoke to a saleswoman and she said all new stock is kept out the back and not in the showroom for everyone to sit in and that.

It worried me that a brand new car in there showroom would be marked up like that, if a car in the showroom had those marks, what about our cars when delivered?

The showroom cars will get brushed against and little kids with chocolate hands all over them mate, theyre there to be sat in and touched and scratches are naturally going to occur.

Im sure your brand new one wont have any of that... if so then dont accept!
