1st Time With Clay

I'm not a detailer. I like washing my cars as long as I can get it done within the space of two hours or so and never used a clay bar before as never felt any of my cars needed it - enter the Rallye!

The paint on this thing was so rough I used the bonnet to sand down my headlights on the clio!

I nipped to the local motor factors and bought a meguiars quick clay kit and set to work. To say I'm impressed is an understatement. The paints not immaculate but it's such an improvement and now responds to polish and wax so much better.

In summary, I'm a clay bar convert and can't wait to try it on the rest of the fleet.

I've never tried clay either but have been tempted several times ...when is best to apply it? After a wash & dry but before polish & waxing?

I'd imagine so. I did watch a few professional videos on youtube, and they go through everything.

I bought the meguires kit the other day too and am yet to use it, although the weather is pretty nice so might get it out today.

HERE.

I actually watched the whole thing, it's quite a good watch when you overlook how much of a n00b the tall guy is.

The first times I used it, I was really impressed by how much claying makes a difference to the finished result. Leaves the paint lovely and smooth

Just finished, and OH s**t. what a difference! I'm converted.
