2.0 16v basically a williams?

i read somewhere if u were to put a diesel cam in a 16v it would change the stroke to a 2.0, apparantly this is what renault did.

is this true??? as valvers rev higher than williams is this potentially quicker??

2.0 16v IS a Williams engine.

I think theres more to it than just the cam tho.. else everyone would do it..

how would a camshaft change the stroke?! you mean crankshaft surely?

i think he means crank possibly - thats the only way to increase cubic capacity either than a re-bore

yeah sorry i ment crank!! this is what i read, also you would need a slight alteration on the head! such as boring it out

williams has longer stroke and slightly larger bore to give 2.0. the longer stroke and heavier crank reduces the max rpm. it also has larger inlet valves.

so...to make your F7P into 2.0, youd fit the williams pistons and crank. the block needs machined to accept the larger webs. larger valves would be beneficial, but alot of people use the 2.0 bottom with the 1.8 head.

would be easier if you could find a williams lump and chuck that in...
