2 technical issues

Hi folks, I would like your advice on two issues I am experiencing with my 172mk1.

1) When I rev my engine it make a high pitched whisteling sound. It sounds like a jet engine...which is actually pretty cool , but not normal.

2) When I accellrate in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear I get a rumbling noise and a vibration through the car. Also feels like the car lacks grip. Because of this it doesn't accellerate a fast as it used to. Maybe an issue with the clutch?

Any ideas guys?

Number 1 could be cam belt roller and pre tensioners. Aux belt etc.
Number 2 could be clutch slipping.

Ah, I should get a new cam belt fitted sooner rather than later...so could this be related then? Or are the roller and pre tensioners a separate thing?

vibration through the car when booting it could be loose gearbox/engine mounts too, check those out.

my cup makes a whistling sound also, has done since i had it tho, i thought it was normal, you sure the vibrating aint the wheels losing grip when pulling away?

Not sure. To me it feels like that could be the case. My colleague (and former owner of the car) disagrees.

Mine whistles. Has been in to renault twice. They say it is normal and 1 of the mechanics i know owns 1 and says the same thing.
