200+ Clio's

Just noticed that it seems more and more 172/182's are very close or pushing over the 200bhp mark. Just wondering how many there actually are on the site? Thought it may be a base for a good thread, pics and vids included would be a good bonus! Also valvers/williams as well.

205bhp, 177lb/ft.

its significantly better, the FBW setup is just poor.

not easy lee, you need a stand alone ECU and the mk1 TB

i have all my work done by hillpower and i can assure you that nick wouldnt claim anything he couldnt prove,he's built some very quick cars a lot of them people dont know about cus there not on forums

I have emailed him for the price cause thinking about the kit after christmas.

Your best off ringing him and he'll run you through everything he's just brought new software for his rolling road where he will be able to record people cars on the RR and save it on a memory stick,he sells h&r coilovers now aswell had some on mine last month

Not gonna bother with the handling, its very good as it is and its all down to the driver in my opinion.

my 172 felt really on edge with the standard suspension but with the coilovers on it feels really composed through the twisties

Going back to the throttle and cable over FBW do you lose anything, ie cruise control?

A 172 Mk1 should be capable of 0-100 mph in just under 20 seconds (silver versions are slightly quicker, of course!).

the really quick ones are around 13sec to 100

200bhp ones i'd guess at around 15sec???

That's quick! I'll carry on dreaming about it I think. The Clio Cup race cars make it in about 10 ish secs, I read somewhere, and have about 195 horsepower. Renaultsport forum has some of the details on the car.

A 182 does a 0-100 in 17.5 standard.

Freds 15sec 0-100 for a 200bhp 182, is Nissan 350z pace.

13sec 0-100 is Impreza 22b pace.
Sorry to get the stats out but it gives a good comparison.

It costs alot to tune them but it is nice too see that for a few grand you can challenge a 3.5l rear wheel drive sports car.

puts it into perspective. especially as the FWD clios will have crap traction compared so some of those listed above! from rolling is where the 200+ clio's make the difference!

especially the under 900kg's mk1's

The Integra is no contest on the bike! prefer to go after the supercars on that!

Only car i have ever struggled against on acceleration is the Ultima. That thing was fast.
