hi thanks for the replies i am still having problems starting the car Ive had it on two diagnostics no codes found one garage said he thought the ecu may be faulty because when you turn the ignition on it clicks twice he wasn't sure whether that normal on a 1.4 clio so was wondering if any one could shed a bit of light on it before i spend another load of cash on it the car will turn over great but its not getting any power the the coils/spark plugs thank you in advance

Easily checked:

Connect diagnostic equipment, enter live data area, crank engine and take note specifically of the "engine speed" value.

Does it show rotation (Eg. 0rpm turns to 200-300ish rpm)?

If so its not the crank sensor and attention should be moved to the ignition coils and injectors. Specifically do they have power when ignition is on/vehicle cranking? If yes, scope the ignition/injector drivers and if they're not working the issue is either wiring or the ECM itself.

Nah.... seen this on loads of PH1 clio 2's, cranks over with no spark, usually wiring to the ECU broken, runs in a trunk down by the gearbox, usually find a couple of wires snapped, hard to believe i know :)

hi mike Ive traced the wires found plug to crank sensor to be faulty Ive bypassed it with spade connectors temp job I'm getting fuel to injectors when you crank the car its not punping fuel but fine with ignition on still no fire would the ecu need to be reset due to the fault if so is there a reset method i can do without putting it on a computer thanks dave

Have you checked physically for a spark?

i cant check the plugs as they push themselves out of the coil i had the multimeter on the wires when you turn ignition on 12v is shown for a second or 2 but nothing when you turn engine over i don't have any noid lights so not sure how to test the plugs for a spark (bring back the old system lol)
