insurance groups for cars are not just classed on how fast they go.they take into account how safe the car is in a crash, how easy they are to nick, how popular they are at being nicked etc. If you look at the old vauxhall astras 1.6,1.8 and 2.0 and compare them to the new ones the there is a big difference. As the cars have advanced got safer and harder to nick the insurance is less on new models than older ones.

so how come a 1.6 is 1610kg and a 182 is only 1090kg? Bigger engine, more equipment? Am i being stupid?

no the 1.6 dynamique is only 1070kg i think

and if was in the s.wales area we could see what the out come was;)

(if my car wasnt at renault again)

Theyre not 1600kg. Probably about 1050kg.

The "RSi" was the new name for the Mk2 "16V" (did no justice to the original bonnet-bulged, fat arched, rip-roaring Mk1 16V) and now its just another engine option, available in sporting Dynamique or luxury trim.

Apart from the Mk2 Ph1 and Ph2 differences, there will only be trim variations. The insurance groups depend also on repair prices and commonality of parts.

sh*t u do learn things on here! lol

looking forward to seein the out come of them so just ask when i get my ass to a meet!
