2001 clio 172 gearbox problem plz help

Wheels span in first change to second and car just revved up clutch works put in gear wont move jacked car up put in gear turned wheels and it doesnt turn engine can here a clicking noise wen rotate drivers wheel is diff gone are someone said a circlip????? Dont wana take box out yet wana ask first thanks

Depends on the gearbox code but most likely guess is the diff retaining circlip

Select first gear, go to drive off if the speedo goes up and you don't go anywhere=100% circlip

yes yes was circlip does any1 recomend welding it in are putting a plate over that you buy will it keep coming off now thanks

Some people have welded them in, when mine went i just replace the circlip and spacer behind it and never had a problem again

Fit the plate, replaces the crappy circlip and easy enough to do without taking out the gearbox.

make sure u have high tensile bolts with plate as mine snapped after a few months of use

Might just replace the clip and washer as my mate only wants a quick job for trade in
