2002 1.2 16v clio eratic idle plz read!!

Hi, Ive noticed ppl mentioning the throttle position sensor for erratic idle,
Is this correct?

The revs on my clio drop (cuts out) when going drivin in 4th and 5th, when i drop a gear the revs come back, Does this sound like a symptom of tps failure?

Its most likely either your TPS or your coil pack gone. Try to get to a garage for a diagnostic to be sure.

my car is going into limp home mode which is dropping revs to 1500,

will have to use a scanner and hope for the best!

Very common problem on the 1.2's. If it shows up a "programming throttle limits" fault It will be either loose connections on the tb, the tb its self or maybe rubbed wireing on the ECU cover. The TPS is incorperated into throttle bodys these days with it being fly by wire and all.

hi there, am i right in thinking the throttle body is behind the air box?

I have found a throttle body on ebay but im not to sure if this is any good for my model..

No, its actually inside the inlet manifold ( one of renaults awsome ideas again) So getting to it is a pig. That link is for the later style 1.2 16v. Slightly different to yours.
