2002 Clio 1.2 16v - N/S central locking fails

  Clio '02 1.2L 16v
Hi all,

I'm currently trying to fix a problem with the central locking on the front passenger door of my 2002 Clio Expression 1.2 16v. The door locks/unlocks fine using the key manually, but when using the central locking via the key fob, the door used to only lock/unlock approximately 50% of the time, and now doesn't work at all. There is no 'click' sound from the door when it fails. All other doors work exactly as expected.

There are two wires going in to the lock, green and white. I have measured with a multimeter and and there is approximately 12V going through the white wire when the key fob is pressed (it's difficult to get an exact measurement as it's a very brief pulse). I'm not an electrical person at all but this sounds normal.

I've tried replacing the entire locking mechanism (solenoid and physical lock) as replies on similar topics seem to suggest that the solenoid is the most likely cause, however this hasn't fixed the issue. To convince myself that I wasn't replacing it with another dud, I've also tried wiring the lock mechanism directly across the battery, which works fine - just not when inside the door.

Any ideas for what I could try next would be gratefully received as I'm at a bit of a loss!

Thank you in advance and a happy new year to all!
