2002 Renault Clio 1.2 16v

Can people tell me what I should look out for on:

2002 RENAULT CLIO 1.2 16V Extreme 3dr Hatchback. 87,000 miles



Any probelms I should check for?

Check for rubbing on the wiring harness by the injection computer cover (at the back ov the engine) very common, Rear coil spring known to snap, If it has a suroof listen for creaks as if there are any a new frame will be needed and that is expensive. Also if it is a 3 door make sure the front seats tilt forward(easy to fix just annoying ) Those r the main problems u get from a 1.2 clio that i can think ov atm.

Also belts r due to be changed every 72k or 5 years, so make sure theve been doon

every 1.2 sunroof creaks, not a problem, and cant be fixed for good, only temp fixes!

make sure it has service history at that millage (not that its high, just high if its not been serviced properly!)

make sure the cambelt AND waterpump has been done, if waterpump hasnt been done it will leak.

mayo under the oil filler cap is normal.
