2003 steering wheel on a 2001 172?

Hello

My original steering wheel on my 2001 172 has worn badly (as I realise they all have) so I bought a 2003 steering wheel & air bag to replace it with, the trouble is the new air bag has two conection points and the old one only has one so I have 2 questions;

Has anyone fitted a 2003 + steering wheel onto a 2001 172?

Does anyone know how to fit the 2003 wheel to the 2001 car or if it can actually be fitted?

Is it a Mk1 172 your trying to fit it to? Or are they both Mk2's?
