2005 Clio 1.2 16v dynamique 152,000 - Newbie and faults please help :)

Hi all

I have just bought (well given) the above car for my misses,
I have noticed the following faults with the car after driving for about 3days;
I would appreciate any comments / advice
even through it has the below faults the engine (once Warm) runs good and everything feels as it should considering its age and mileage

okay lets get on to the faults;
1) Hesitant when cold; think it may be Coil, leads / sparks (what parts to buy?)
2) Right indicator coming on when touches brakes; think its an earth (which ones?)
3) When lights on and hazard switch on, open door light come on; think its an earth (which ones?)
4) Vibration thru brake pedal when braking; ABS Pump, replace or renew valve, bleed all brakes with new fluid (where to buy and what fluid best)
5) Clicking noise under dashboard on passenger side when using headlights, driver’s window; Think it’s a relay (which one and where is it?)
6) Stiff clutch, feels if it's sticking; Replace Clutch, Slave and cable (what parts to buy/ where to buy?)
7) When rains, roof lining gets wet; Remove roof lining, remove sunroof, clean up and re-seal, is this usually the rubber seal or seal between roof and sunroof its self?
8) Gear stick rocks when lift of accelerator; Replace all engine mounts(what parts to buy/ where to buy?)
9) Sun roof rattles while driving; Look at leaver and rubbers (what is the cause of rattle?)
10) Auto wipers don't always work;
11) Engine management light comes on and flashes sometimes; but seems to be running okay
12) Timing Belt was done at 81,000; so need to Re-new timing belt, tensioner and water pump, (what parts to buy/ where to buy?)

I don't want to spend lots on the car but want it to be safe and reliable for my other half to take kids about etc, I will be carrying out all the work either myself or a close friend so only parts cost

1) Hesitant when cold; think it may be Coil, leads / sparks (what parts to buy?) give it a good service, start with checking plus then go to coil pack, plugging it in to diagnostics will give you a better idea
2) Right indicator coming on when touches brakes; think its an earth (which ones?)
3) When lights on and hazard switch on, open door light come on; think its an earth (which ones?) rear light cluster connections
4) Vibration thru brake pedal when braking; ABS Pump, replace or renew valve, bleed all brakes with new fluid (where to buy and what fluid best) probably not abs unless really harsh vibrations, could be warped discs
5) Clicking noise under dashboard on passenger side when using headlights, driver’s window; Think it’s a relay (which one and where is it?) uch module, it's supposed to click
6) Stiff clutch, feels if it's sticking; Replace Clutch, Slave and cable (what parts to buy/ where to buy?) this is usual and fine, clutches are horrible in these
7) When rains, roof lining gets wet; Remove roof lining, remove sunroof, clean up and re-seal, is this usually the rubber seal or seal between roof and sunroof its self? Usually sorts the problem for a while
8) Gear stick rocks when lift of accelerator; Replace all engine mounts(what parts to buy/ where to buy?)

10) Auto wipers don't always work; they're s**t beyond belief, don't worry
11) Engine management light comes on and flashes sometimes; but seems to be running okay lambs sensor probably but diagnostics
12) Timing Belt was done at 81,000; so need to Re-new timing belt, tensioner and water pump, (what parts to buy/ where to buy?)


I don't want to spend lots on the car but want it to be safe and reliable for my other half to take kids about etc, I will be carrying out all the work either myself or a close friend so only parts cost

3) When lights on and hazard switch on, open door light come on; think its an earth (which ones?) Rear light cluster connections I guess if its only when the lights are on, does it not happen when the lights are off?

10) Auto wipers don't always work; Not sure where the sensor is for this, but if you know where it is clean it up, and if its near the scuttle panel clean this out as well as the drains.
11) Engine management light comes on and flashes sometimes; but seems to be running okay If its only faintly coming up sometimes then could be an earth problem. Could scan it for codes using a code scanner?
12) Timing Belt was done at 81,000; so need to Re-new timing belt, tensioner and water pump, (what parts to buy/ where to buy?) Genuine Renault from Renault Wolverhampton if you're doing it yourself, but it's a specialist job so use a Renault specialist, people can tell you which specialists are closest to you if you say where you're from. If you do it yourself make sure you use genuine locking tools!

Probably a cracked abs ring, common on these.

A friend of mine has a 4-5K snap on scanner and only faults it pulled as light misfire on no 4

a friend of mine is going to remove whole engine and gearbox to do clutch and timing belt, water pump etc

why would you recommend Renault parts as euros just as good no? or gates as they did an upgraded tensioner / water pump

Gates I've heard about I think before, ECP isn't always very good, their thermostats for example don't fit the 1.2 well at all IIRC.

Anti Freeze / Coolant

Clutch cable

Is there anything else I should Order / replace while doing all the above?

update

1) Hesitant when cold;I replaced coil pack, HT Leads spark plugs and cleaned crank sensor - SORTED
2) Right indicator coming on when touches brakes; I removed rear lights cleaned connections / earths - SORTED
3) When lights on and hazard switch on, open door light come on; I removed all engine earths cleaned and connections to door plungers - SORTED
4) Vibration thru brake pedal when braking; I cleaned ABS sensors and ABS rings - one had a small ding in so filed flat again problem still there must be pump about £35 of ebay how easy to fit? do they have to be primed or anything?
5) Clicking noise under dashboard on passenger side when using headlights, driver’s window; Think it’s a relay (which one and where is it?)
6) Stiff clutch, feels if it's sticking; I removed engine and replace clutch, bearing and cable genuine parts - SORTED
7) When rains, roof lining gets wet; Removed roof lining, removed sunroof, cleaned up rubber and re-sealed - SORTED might re-trim headlining etc in black :S
8) Gear stick rocks when lift of accelerator; Replaced all engine mounts genuine - still moves about 5-10mm but lot better
9) Sun roof rattles while driving; tightened everything and put felt between fittings and SORTED
10) Auto wipers don't always work;
11) Engine management light comes on and flashes sometimes; but seems to be running okay SORTED guess it was down to coil
12) Timing Belt was done at 81,000; - replaced timing belt, pully and water pump genuine parts - SORTED

all in all very productive day two days even sprayed all rusty bits to smarten up etc j

for some reason it has now developed the following problems

Leaking radiator - how much and where to buy?
Washer pump nothing happens - how can I test pump? and where is the fuse?
and brake pedal still vibrates under braking - think im going to order ABS pump off ebay but how to fit? does it need to be primed etc?
