2007 Clio DCi III timing belt service

  Clio DCi III
Hi guys!

It will soon be time to change my timing belt.

I have spoken to my local Renault dealership & they have told me they will do "everything" all in for £400. Having limited mechanical knowledge I asked if they would be changing the water pump & they said yes, that's included in the £400. I've checke on their fixed priced servicing online http://www.renault.co.uk/ownerservices/servicing/servicing-offers.aspx & it does say "Timing belt inc. accessory belt £399". However, there is no mention on the waterpump?

Now, I've just got a few questions I hope someone can help me with. I was wondering what the "accessory belt" is? And.. Is there any things else they should be changing belts wise when they are doing the timing belt. Car has 55,000m & is 6 years old later this month.

Hope someone can help :S

Spoke to one renault garage & they have said timing/aux belts pulley change is on offer at £379. He said water pump is not necessary but would be an extra £120?

Is it not necessary to change the water pump? £500 for belts and pump seems a lot - or is this right?

Thanks for any help guys.

edit: just spoken to renault garage in my firstpost and they will do belts and pump for £380, they knocked £20 off if I get the car in on Wednesday. Quite a variation in price!? What do you guys think about that?

I want to get this done, sell the car in a few months and get my 197!

I think you'd be mad to take it to Renault in any case, even if it was £400 all in inc the water pump.

There are that many specialists you'd kick yourself if and when it fails if Renault do it.

I'm in Northern Ireland guys, not many specialists here for Renault I don't think.

Booked in to Renault tomorrow... At least they will have to stand over it I suppose, right?
