200Bhp Cup

There is a new car mag on the shelves at the mo, comparing new modded cars.

They have the LAD Motorsport Cup @ 200Bhp, good - so you would think.

They had the 0-60 in 7.3 seconds, I thought standard was 6.4!!!

Anyone had or thinking about getting this done? Are there any benefits to the 200bhp conversion other than pub talk?

Cheers Oliverreed

  Corsa 1.3 CDTI

You could of course pay me to sit on my ar5e and not doing anything yo your car and still have more power than the LAD 200bhp converstion ;)

0-62 = 6.8/9

0-60 = 6.4/6.5

TimO172 = 14.0623434 quarter mile, 0.8 up on standard so 0-60 possibly bit better than 6.3/4 if modded properly!

Well if the conversions makes the Cups 0-60 to 7.3seconds......................thats the same time as my 10 year old Clio 16v, just tested at Donny.

Theres gotta be something drasticly wrong with the LAD conversion. All i hear is very bad things about it.

LAD just claim bullsh!t figures.

Most conversions dont make the power they claim, and the odd few even lose power!

Remember that TimOs mod does also include removing pretty much the entire interior!

Yup... my Dad has a load of really old back issues with some classic stuff in...

CCC has gone from bad to worse recently. Used to be about proper club motorsport.

Was with my uncle when he had his Westfield on the clinic feature with Dave Walker. That was a classic day, trailoring a bright yellow Westfield through the middle of Brixton at 11 at night!

Think it would be nice to get that LAD thing on some independant rollers to find out what it is actually making. Though (and i havent seen the article) it was put onto Dave Walkers rollers, they are usually acurate.

Does anyone know of anyone whos got a L.A.D. 200 cup? if so Ill pay for their run at the power engineering RR day.

didnt either gs-aye or bmwboy have a mate who ahd one that they were going on about not being as quick as their car? i might be wrong tho

I would rather have someone whos had the L.A.D. conversion done rather than their demo car, call me parra but Id like to test the work they give to the public, not their show-off car.

Would love to see this...

Last time I had my 106 GTi on the rollers (a couple of years ago now) there were 2 LAD Saxo VTSs there and both made less power than my virtually standard car!!!

Oh how I chuckled!

Exactly mate...

please! we need a l.a.d. customers car to test, not their demo car, not that I dont trust them, but I wanna test what is actually sold, otherwise people *may* have a shock.

well paddy, I aint seen anything independantly proved, you never know it could make the power ROFL

200bhp + would shock me I can tell ya.... but Ill wait and see if anyone (Not L.A.D. themselves) brings a LAD 200 Cup to a rolling road day......

yep, BMW-BOYs mate, i was gonna meet up for a race but couldnt make it!
Can you get in touch with him then?!

  mk2 172

people always resort to tims slicks, thet dont make it any quicker! his sixty foot times are similar to mine, his car is modded properly thats it, stripped, and the full stage one with good quality bits, he was on full race slicks when he did the 14.0 and all they did was rip up the launch strip, they werent hot enough to give him glue like traction anyways, his terminals say it all. bout 97 or more mph, mayb 98, iv raced him on the slicks like and can keep with him till 50 or 60, then its just too quick.

let me know what you think Rich, aparently the 172 engine isnt that good at been tuned up! as we said- a turbo is the answer, hurrry up somebody
