2012 Audi RS3

Car  FN2 Type R +MK6 Golf
A short video of what,i think to be a bit of a let down tbh.Should have been 3 door and bulging arches like the hero outgoing 4.2 RS4.
One question though,it says all wheel drive quattro,is this then going back to the old skool,or just the same shitty haldex...?

There isn't even any pictures in here Ian. WTF!

I've seen it but you can't make a thread about a new car and post zero pictures!

Dem da rulez innit.

A video is good enough for you sonny jim.Plus all the internetz pics are shops at best...

Bit of effort. :o

My question has to be, how can you go from a stunning S3 3 door to a flagship hatch that looks like an estate.

They should be embarrased!

It does look like they have just shrunk the design of the rs4 estate on a photocopier and said that will do ...... we will the it the rs3.

Honestly annoys me just looking at it

estate looking hatch can f**k off

:approve:

I love Audi's but have never liked the look of any of the A3 and S3 range. I thought the RS3 was going to be the car that changed that. I also thought it was going to be the car that pissed the Focus RS in to the wind. After all, it could have been a flared out, butch looking 3 door hatch with a hard hitting 5 cylinder like the Focus but then getting what it lacked from the outset which is 4 wheel drive and 350bhp standard. Instead, they have gave us a small 4 door estate car. Shame on you Audi

Shame about the car size, but stonking engine. Same as the TTRS so will be schweet.

And for all the Haldex haters, it works a treat.

Also, I prefer the back of the SportBack to the hatch - LED tail lights and just generally better looking.

Sportbacks are gorgeous but not when i'm buying the flagship hothatch and probably the most expensive on the market.

Imagine the tuning potential of the RS3 though. A mapped TTRS will skin a Audi R8 so the RS3 is going to be pretty much the same pace as the TTRS. Scary quick with a few tweeks, standard it will be bloody quick too.

Or, for £500 you could buy a second-hand lawnmower and fit a Boeing jet engine to it...

I hate the Sportback and hate the S3 so this was never going to end well with me. Second hand RS4 Avant FTW.

I've amended it as I knew you really meant Saloon.

Alderly edge, and Matt black? I thought you had taste!

I love the avants, if you need one. If not buy the saloon and waft in awesomeness!

Avant has always suited Audis... i love the fact an RS4 can suit so many roles. Just a shame they didn't do a flappy paddle version.

I know but you still said it was nice, matt black on an RS4 is not nice it's "Scene gay" iirc! :o

Dave, I take it that's a serious post? Ridiculous :(

Unfortunately yes lol ... rumour has it that the thing was understeering so much in testing at the 'ring that they needed to do something. Obviously designing a chassis that wasnt sh1t was too expensive.

Surprised they dont just fit all Audi with R888's on the front wheels ;)
