205/45/16 tyre question???

Is that OK to use it on my 172 as I am having Eibach Pro Spring?
Will it effect the reading of the speedo?
How about fuel consumption?
Will the tyre touch the wheel arch?

There are much better choice for 205 tyre in my country such as Yokohama AD07 and Bridgestone RE-01R. Those are their top road tyre.

If you go from 195/45/16 to 205/45/16 your speedo will read 70mph and you'll acutally be doing 71.08mph .

Really ? Why? i thought it would read incorrect if the height was different?
The height IS different - the "45" is the height of the tyre but is a percentage of the width. Hence if you increase the width from 195 to 205 then the 45% figure will increase.

hkka - I'm using 205/45/16s on standard 16" ph2 172 alloys, lowered 40mm on Apex springs. Not had any problems.

Thanks guy!!

I am wondering if Renault adjusted the setting of the speedo on 182 to make sure it is accuate?

Well, how about fuel consupmtion??? More surface of the tyres is touching the ground..

That tyre calculator does not make sense.

It says that when my speedo reads 60, i'll be doing 65.. which isn't true because when my speedo reads 60, my TomTom says 55/57.

I have gone through speed cameras at TomToms 60, which teh tyre calculator would be 67, and never got a ticket

You'll be hard pressed to find a difference in fuel consumption..
