seems there may be a new cpu in it but no proof yet but lots of vrm's and capacitors have gone possibly pointing to it been a 65nm cpu
new dvd drive too but as ms have said before it all depends on where its made and what they have in stock as to what components you get inside them

As far as Im aware, the UK has yet to see a BenQ drive, we got the tricky Hitachi 0079fk.

Although, when we get the Elite it will good to see whats in our version......

The word “Elite” conjures up images of high class and wealth and with the Xbox 360 Elite still being cheaper than the PS3, it doesn’t live up to its namesake

Larger hard drive is on my wanted list, but I'll just buy that separate unless it's rediculous, in which case I'll get my Xbox chipped, and copy enough games to make the saving enough to warrant an Elite

to be fair the 360 elite is really aimed at the US market where marketplace has masses of downloadable HD films. These clock in at about 6-7gig a pop and thus people want to be able to store them on their HDD, even though once paid for they can be re-downloaded for free.

for us UK guys, unless MS release the marketplace films and that, 20gig really is more than enough. Even after downloading demos and the like, you are never really gonna have to fill that. Idiots may fill it with MP3s but sensible people will use the media sharing capabilites.

whilst the HDMI port is a great addition for people that can only have 1080p through HDMI, it is worth remembering that most 360 games are 720p only and thus any "results" will be not true 1080p.

Why does it not live up to it's name sake?
It does support wireless networking!?
New technology is always being released on the maket, if you buy something early thats the way it goes. Has been like this with PC's for as long as i can remember. There are places doing trade in's for people who want to upgrade their consoles anyway.
We don't know if it'll run quieter or not, but who cares anyway.
Their reasoning behind hd-dvd not being integrated is that if blu-ray win's the format war, then they're likely to release a blu-ray add on....
Black colour last gen? er....ps3 is black. psp was released in black. nintendo ds is in black, nintendo wii is supposed to be being released in black. My telly is black as is most if you go into a tv store.....
A larger hard drive is going to be for the video marketplace and for you to use your xbox more as media centre...the hdmi port is significant, well it is to me. i can't run 1080i over component and with a 1080p capable telly i want it to perform as good as it can, not to mention hd-dvd movies will benefit.

Mine is full, has some downloaded videos on it, the rest is game content. I NEED a bigger one.

no... thats what im saying.. on 13gb free IIRC from new.. so ive only used a couple gigs..

I dont need to use the 360 as a media centre as I already have a linux media pc that i use instead...

Mine reads 13.6gb free when i got it. Now got around 10gb free.
