I just had a quote for mine, although it is a mark 1 the service menu is vitually the same. they quoted me £549 including the belt change so pretty expensive really. Think I need brake pads as well and these wouldnt have been included.
The price i was quoted was from a ranault main dealer, it was roughly £325 for the service then the rest belt and labour, I think the labour for the belt was 2.1 hrswhich is why its so expensive, if you go to an independent renault specialist it will be a lot cheaper, specialist renault services in Nuneaton have quoted me around £220 for the service and belt change, me supplying oil and filter, there is no problem with warranty as they use genuine parts although mine is out of warranty now so saving £300 is a bonus.
Well i dont know about re-no-man but nick hill recommended me to the guy in nuneaton, bit far for you to go though, if you get it serviced by him make sure he is going to include the belt change in the price.
dogmaul, if that is dixons in York they are a bunch of t**ts. My car has been in twice in the last month to have 2 problems fixed, last time it when in it came out with 4 problems needing to be fixed! Nice. Spoke to the manager, got a couple of lame excuses and no apology and was told they wanted the car in for 4 days to fix and would charge me £32 for a courtesy car for the insurance!
A little tip - go and have a quick word with the mechanics at your local renault dealer and ask if any do any fiddle work or after work servicing. The worst they can say is no. I got a quote for a 36k service on my mk1 172 sport from my local dealer and it was £300 + parts on top. A mechanic from the same dealership did it for £90 including parts!!!
