Already there mate, it's running on the X2 4800 system I put together the other day.:D

I'm just going to hose my PC, I can't put up with XP 64 any longer.

I put XP Pro back on after installing XP64 and nothing wanting to work with it. :dapprove:

Was rapid though on a clean install. :)

Driver support is a total joke, those that work don't work properly, or performance is impaired, software support is also crap, even the MS stuff.

Just copying my data onto another drive.

thought the problems with xp64 has been sorted?

ive just got myself a full genuine copy and was going to install it, not sure ill bother. Might just wait til vista comes out :D

Biggest problem I have is our Corporate AV software doesn't work! And as I play a lot of games the nVidia drivers are pretty poor. Plus I can't install the Exchange 2003 Admin program.

ooo, games development.

Recently saw a job going at Rareware... need to be a good c++ programmer tho which im not :(

Lee do you program or do modelling?

Would be a cool place to work, dont think ive got the skills tho even if i am doing a software engineering course, lol.

I think Lee looks after the IT stuff there rather than works directly on the games. Could be wrong though...

Yeah, I'm more I.T. Support, but do get to have a say in what's good and bad in the games, as I was originally a Games Tester and then did a little project management.

I worked for Elite Systems for 2 years, Rage Software for 9 and I've been at Swordfish for a couple.

I turned down a job at Sony when SCEE was just started. Think that one might have been a bit of a mistake. lol I would have been one of the first 20 staff there.

Gutted, whats your job entail then?

Im looking to go more Hardware based / support than programming as the only decent langauges im good at is VB and some Internet Stuff.

I cover all hardware, PC and development kits, network, servers, email and if I get the change I get to comment on the stuff we have in development or other sites within the group. About the only think I don't mess with is the firewall.

I got to help out a little on Juiced as Colin Bell who runs the site was an ex Rage man, and he knows of my love for racing games. lol

I find XP64 is fine not a problem with drivers etc. Everything on mine works exactly as it does on XP32 as i dual boot between them. Only found 1 thing so far i couldnt get running on XP64.

but i got 5190 3dmarks in 06.

Thats on a 4400+
7800GTX 512 version
2gb ram

its ok for some things but mainly marketted at graphics designers and modellers etc. Which are some of the only people who will take advantage of the extra memory support on a workstation.

games do seem to be quicker under it though an HL2 has better view distance etc. As there is a 64bit native exe for HL2.

One thing it really lacks is printer drivers too, it's fine for most things, but it's the simple daily tasks that turn into half an hour jobs that really got on my nerves.

Now when anyone in the office comes and asks for it I'll tell them where to go. lol

Yeah my printer is fairly new driver was fine to get hold of. Since nearly all my hardware is brand new just released i dont have an issue with anything why it was an ok upgrade for me.

Some of our printers are from the stone age and the size of a Clio. Also I run them all of a Win2k3 print server which meant I could no longer just double click the printer I wanted to installed. Instead I had to setup up a port for it on my own PC making me my own print server.

A 5 minute job became half and hour, that included finding 64bit drivers.

HP are so slow on the uptake. Kyocera have plenty out.

Always the same with new systems :/

Vista is more than likely gonna be god awful with all the security crap rumoured ot be going into it.

Still think windows 2000pro was the best of the recent systems.
